Scarlet was a corporate trainer for a fortune 500 company for 30 years and was instrumental in the development of programs for Regis Corporation, JC Penney, Ulta Corporation and Great Clips. She was a strategic planner for the profitability for each entity listed. Traveling to and from New York it appeared her future was set, but God had other plans for her.
Scarlet was asked to go out with her church to help them with the "Prostitution Ministry" she gladly said "yes". That evening Scarlet found herself hiding behind a hotel attempting to protect a woman who had just been pistol whipped by her pimp. Scarlet felt limited in helping that woman. Driving home Scarlet was wrecked by what she experienced. In 2012 Scarlet founded Women of Alabaster. In 2015 she left her corporate position to work in full-time ministry in Over the Rhine in Cincinnati, OH. As the Director of Women of Alabaster, Scarlet directs the ministry and business of Women of Alabaster. Her skills and duties include: Integrating trauma informed care to the organization, budget planning and stewardship, vision casting, directing strategic programming, managing donor and relational partnerships. Scarlet also works directly with volunteers, equipping them to serve in the Day Center and on the Street Ministry teams. Currently, she leads the Street Ministry teams. |
Laura Claycraft- Hamilton Day Center Coordinator
Spending one minute with Laura will reveal the reason why God brought her to the Women of Alabaster. Laura radiates gentleness and kindness, and a puddle of grace flows beneath her wherever she stands.
Before coming to WOA, Laura was a hairdresser, worked at UPS and was the owner and operator of her own commercial and residential cleaning company for 22 years.
As a Day Center Coordinator, Laura oversees day center operations. She advocates for clients by coordinating services and resources.
Laura, why do you serve at Women of Alabaster?
"It is my heart and calling to love God's lost children unconditionally and to be an advocate for them."
What one thing would you change if you had the power?
"To help them (trafficked victims) see who God really created them to be. To see them set free living in the fullness of God."
What scripture do you lean on?
The Lord is my strength and my song, he has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him, my fathers God, and I will exalt him.
Ex 15:2
